Archer Road
Miller Goodall was appointed to complete an air quality assessment in relation to a commercial development within the Archer Road Retail Park, approximately 3 miles from the centre of Sheffield.
Damside Street
Miller Goodall was asked to carry out an air quality assessment on a development of 123 student apartments in Damside Street, Lancaster. The development site was adjacent to a bus station and close to the boundaries of an air quality management area, designated as such on the basis of annual nitrogen dioxide levels in the area. The assessment was required by the Local Authority to assess the impact of the development on existing air quality and to assess the effect of air quality on future occupants of the development.
Fernbank Mill
Miller Goodall Ltd (MGL) was asked to provide an air quality assessment in relation to an outline planning application for a residential development on land within the boundaries of an active pre-cast concrete plant. Given the location of the proposed dwelling in relation to the manufacturing facility, the local authority requested an assessment of dust from the plant in order to assess the suitability of the site for residential use. Consultation with the local authority indicated that effects on health and effects of nuisance were both of concern.
Mill Farm
Miller Goodall Ltd (MGL) was appointed to undertake an air quality assessment for a mixed use development on land in Wesham, Lancashire. The proposed development included a new football ground for AFC Fylde, a warehouse and distribution centre with ancillary office space, a retail store, a sports science building, a full-size outdoor floodlit 3G sports pitch, three all-weather floodlit five-a-side pitches, a petrol filling station, a hotel, a pub/restaurant and drive through restaurant, and non-food bulky goods retail use. The aim was to assess the impact of traffic generation associated with the development at existing residential receptors.
Newport
Miller Goodall Ltd (MGL) was appointed to undertake an air quality assessment in relation to a residential development in Newport, Shropshire. This assessment was required by the Local Authority to support an outline planning application for 85 dwellings and associated landscaping and car parking. The development is not situated within an Air Quality Management Area (AQMA) but the scale of the development raised the possibility of significant impacts on air quality.
Royal Preston
Miller Goodall was asked to provide an air quality assessment in relation to a planning application for a proposed multi-storey car park at the Royal Preston Hospital in Lancashire.
Simpsons Pottery
Miller Goodall Ltd (MGL) was appointed to undertake an air quality assessment for a development of 37 dwellings on the site of a former pottery in Stoke. The aim was to assess the impact of the development on both existing air quality and air quality for future occupants of the development.
