There have been a few positive changes to our team over the past few months and the office is most definitely getting busier! Pre-COVID-19 most of our staff worked full-time in the office, which I imagine was a similar structure to most businesses. However, since then a lot of our staff have been working remotely from their homes across the UK.
As we are a predominantly North-West based consultancy, we have been trying to work on moving our staff back to working in the office more regularly which we feel helps to make everyone feel like they are part of a team rather than separate entities. We have had a number of new staff join us over the past few years across the whole business and building internal relationships is crucial to us all working cohesively. We now have 8 out of 13 of our staff in the office at least 3 times a week and look forward to seeing its positive impact on us as a team.
Here at Miller Goodall, we try to acknowledge and recognise when our staff are excelling in their roles and most recently our Consultant Jo Lacy has been promoted to Senior Acoustic Consultant. Jo only joined us back in April, but has been a crucial asset to the team so far and has gone above and beyond on various projects and helping other members of the noise team. Since joining us, Jo has become a Full Member of the Institute of Acoustics (IOA) and a registered sound insulation tester with the Association of Noise Consultants (ANC). Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication so far!
Another exciting change is that we have welcomed Dan Emery as a new addition to our noise team. Dan joins us as a Senior Acoustic Consultant and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience with him, we are super excited to have him as a part of the Miller Goodall team. This brings the noise team up to 6 consultants, if you are interested in finding out more about our entire team, you can follow this link to the ‘Our Team’ page on our website.
In other news, the whole team got together this week for an evening of bowling and good food to celebrate our financial year-end. We then had a CDM training morning in our Bolton office followed by Carrs Pasties for lunch (if you are based local to Bolton, you’ll know how good they are). Team days are something that we have tried to put a lot more effort into this year and organising them is always good fun, this also gave the remote team members a chance to meet Dan and to spend time with those of us who are in the office full-time.
A positive end to another great year for Miller Goodall, here’s to many more as we head into our 19th year…!
