Melody Horan
Team leader - Air quality
Melody has a BSc (Hons) and MSc, both in Environmental Science. Her MSc thesis investigates whether trees are effectively mitigating air pollution in Liverpool: she found that while trees are alleviating NO₂ concentrations and are effective in acting as a barrier between roadside sites and pedestrian areas, it is critical that suitable trees are planted, as mass planting of certain species can negatively impact air quality due to the high levels of carbon-rich biogenic volatile compounds they emit.

Melody is a member of the Institute of Air Quality Management.
