Paul Bentley
PRINCIPAL ACOUSTIC CONSULTANT
Paul has a BSc (Hons) in Geographical Information Science, an MSc in Environmental Management and Sustainable Development, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control Engineering. He spent two years working in a regulatory compliance role for the Environment Agency and then a further six years with the Environmental Protection team at Wigan Council, specialising in noise and planning but also contributing to the investigation of statutory nuisance from industrial and commercial premises including noise, dust, smoke and odour. In addition, he assisted with the reviewing of air quality planning reports and carrying out LA PPC permitting and inspections. He then moved into acoustic consultancy, where he has seven years' experience working on a variety of projects ranging from environmental noise and vibration, industrial noise and architectural detailing in the residential, commercial, leisure, education, healthcare and industrial processes sectors.

Paul is a member of the Institute of Acoustics and a registered sound insulation tester with the Association of Noise Consultants.

Will Bladon
Acoustic Consultant
Will has a BSc (Hons) in Geography and an MSc (Hons) in Applied Acoustics, which includes the Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control. He has two years' experience in environmental consultancy, undertaking a graduate role after university, and is proficient in noise and air quality surveying. Will is client-focused and has carried out noise modelling and monitoring and noise assessments for both industrial/commercial and housing developments.

Will is an associate member of the Institute of Acoustics.

Unam Ejaz
SENIOR ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTANT
Unam has a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Engineering from the University of Windsor, Canada. She has extensive experience in completing air quality, odour and dust assessments and is skilled in human health risk assessments and dust management plans. Unam has completed a multitude of projects in Canada and the UK for air quality technical reporting, Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), discharge of planning conditions, environmental permitting, and stack height assessments. She specialises in air quality dispersion modelling of road and industrial stacks, human health risk assessments, emission and source inventories, and dust assessments.

Unam is a member of the Institute of Air Quality Management and an associate member of the Institute of Environmental Sciences.

Lesley Goodall
DIRECTOR
Lesley has a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Health, an MSc in Environmental Protection, and a Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control. After 14 years working within the Environmental Health teams of the London Borough of Haringey, Trafford MBC, West Lancashire DC and Salford City Council, she joined with Jo to set up Miller Goodall, where she specialises in air quality, including air quality dispersion modelling and pollution prevention control.

Lesley is a member of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, the Institute of Acoustics and the Institute of Air Quality Management.

Melody Horan
SENIOR AIR QUALITY CONSULTANT
Melody has a first-class BSc (Hons) degree in Environmental Science and received distinction for her MSc in Environmental Science. As a senior air quality consultant at Miller Goodall, Melody carries out air quality and odour assessments as well as mitigation strategies for a wide variety of development types. Melody’s experience includes assessing road traffic and combustion sources, and odour and dust from construction and mineral activities.

Melody is a member of the Institute of Environmental Science and the Institute of Air Quality Management.

Satty Jandu
ASSOCIATE CONSULTANT - AIR QUALITY
Satty has a BSc (Hons) degree in Forensic Biology (Ecological Pathway) and an MSc in Air Pollution Management and Control. He has eight years of experience solely in the field of air quality consultancy. Satty has been involved in a wide range of national and international projects, primarily within the power, construction, infrastructure and transportation sectors. As an associate consultant at Miller Goodall, Satty is involved in air quality assessments, dust assessments, environmental impact assessments, stakeholder engagement and the discharge of planning conditions.

Satty is a full member of both the Institute of Environmental Science and the Institute of Air Quality Management. He is awaiting Chartered Environmentalist status.

Reid Malster
ACOUSTIC CONSULTANT
Reid first joined Miller Goodall as a graduate and has a BSc (Hons) in Music Technology and a Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control. He has a particular interest in building acoustics and has become a familiar contact for clients requiring sound insulation testing services for compliance with UK Building Regulations. Reid is experienced in noise modelling and has undertaken a number of noise assessments relating to significant residential and commercial applications.

Reid is an associate member of the Institute of Acoustics and a registered tester under the Association of Noise Consultants scheme.

Stephen Maslivec
ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTANT
Stephen has a BSc (Hons) in Geography and Diplomas in Environmental Health, Acoustics, Air Pollution and Control, and Management Studies. His experience includes 14 years as an environmental health officer with Bolton Council’s Pollution Control Unit and 10 years as Head of Environmental Protection, also at Bolton Council. He specialises in environmental permitting in respect of regulated industrial and commercial processes and environmental noise monitoring and assessment.

Stephen is a member of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.

Karen Melhuish
ADMIN TEAM LEADER
Karen is an invaluable member of the team, bringing a wealth of experience in business administration and training to her role as office manager. She is involved in all areas of finance at Miller Goodall, including invoicing and credit control. She also provides marketing support and runs the company’s social media pages, keeping customers informed about company news and updates in regulations.

Karen helps to ensure the office runs smoothly at all times and is always a professional and welcoming face for visitors.

Jo Miller
DIRECTOR
Jo has a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Health, an MSc in Acoustics, and an MBA in Business Administration. After 14 years working within the Pollution Control teams at Bolton Council and Salford City Council, in 2004 she joined forces with Lesley to set up Miller Goodall. Jo specialises in the acoustic side of the business, undertaking noise assessments for planning applications and providing sound insulation detailing, testing and advice.

Jo is a member of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health and the Institute of Acoustics. She is a registered sound insulation tester under the Association of Noise Consultants scheme.

Michael Rickard
ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR - ACOUSTICS
Michael has a BA (Hons) and a Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control. He has broad international experience in environmental and architectural acoustics and serves as an expert witness in both fields. His research in acoustics has been presented at international conferences and published in the Institute of Acoustics’ bulletin. Michael has an interest in computer modelling as an aid to creative problem solving and enjoys working with architects to develop high-performing acoustic solutions in difficult buildings.

Michael is a member of the Institute of Acoustics and a registered sound insulation tester with the Association of Noise Consultants.

James Sharpe
GRADUATE ACOUSTIC CONSULTANT
James has a BEng (Hons) degree in Audio and Acoustic Engineering. During his time at university, James developed a strong interest in building acoustics and environmental noise. His dissertation examined the potential impact of train noise on commuters using the London Underground. The study used both noise data and a subjective spatial audio investigation to assess whether commuters were at risk of hearing damage via direct exposure to train noise or through listening to music at a high level in order to mask train noise.

As a graduate acoustic consultant, James is starting his career with Miller Goodall.

David Sproston
PRINCIPAL ACOUSTIC CONSULTANT
David has a BSc (Hons) in Audio Technology. He has over 14 years' experience in the measurement, calculation and assessment of environmental noise in the residential, commercial, industrial, healthcare and education sectors. David has served as an expert witness in environmental noise and has extensive experience in the modelling and assessment of mineral extraction sites. He has also provided comprehensive building acoustics design advice for national and local construction companies, architects and designers, and has carried out sound insulation and acoustics testing on a wide range of projects across the UK.

David is a member of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health and the Institute of Acoustics. He sits on the publications committee of the Institute of Acoustics and received an award for distinguished services in 2013.

Phil Walton
SENIOR AIR QUALITY CONSULTANT
Phil has a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Geoscience and a certificate in noise monitoring. He has over six years’ experience in air quality, odour and dust assessments, and is also skilled in both noise measurement and lighting assessments. Phil has completed a multitude of projects across the UK for standalone technical reporting, EIA and permitting. He specialises in air quality dispersion modelling of road and combustion sources, air quality and dust monitoring, olfactometry odour surveying and reporting, and dust assessments.

Phil is a member of the Institute of Air Quality Management and an associate member of the Institute of Environmental Sciences.

Teresa Weatherall
OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR
Teresa has a BA (Hons) in Librarianship and spent many years working as a librarian. Relocating to the North West led to a change of career and a role with a large retailer, where she gained experience in customer service, training and profit control. Teresa has also worked as an office administrator in the financial sector.

Teresa has excellent organisational skills and a wealth of experience in administration. She is always on hand to support Karen and the team.
